Into Thin Japanese Air

The big question of the day: Did we make it to the Mt Fuji summit?

Watch our video travelogue and find out. Lucky you... you don't even have to experience the joy of altitude sickness...

  1. Congratulations guys! What an awesome experience. So, are you up for Mt. Rainier when you get back to the states?

  3. Nice Job...Climbed Fuji long ago and it is a beast to come down and takes a good amount of effort to climb...looking at my Fuji Stick, that is on my wall, right now.

  4. Mary,
I noticed your post about the month of living dangerously. I totally agree with you. Taking risks and trying new things makes me feel totally alive and it's created an entire new world for me. If I had not taken the AQT/FAR one rainy afternoon in Columbus, Ohio I would have never met your Husband. It's like what FDR said: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself". I think it's awesome that You and McP. climbed Fuji together, you are a real trooper. By the way do you have any single Girlfriends?

  9. Mary, did you do it on your own or did you go through one of the tours & travel agencies (ITT, IACE, Omega, etc.). You guys have totally inspired me and I'm going to see if it's not too late to get over there! Thanks!

  10. Melissa,
You'll do great...just make sure you are ready for any kind of weather rain or shine! A ski cap is good too, and it helped me to have lots of high calorie snacks along the way when you get run down...

  11. McKay,
We booked a tour through Foster Tours+ which includes 3 days in tokyo and one day in Fuji. It includes the bus transportation to the base camp, from where we started hiking, and the return bus trip back to hotel... if you check Okinawahai about Mt Fuji, there is some information about doing it on your own without the tour...good luck and go for it!
